Savas Altuntas / Dog Trainer
My dog training journey began in 2003 while I was a student at the Oberlin College. I was studying music and performing regularly. During one of my gigs, I met a professional dog trainer, Dave Edwards, with whom I began to apprentice.
Dave was a third generation animal trainer, whose ancestors trained sea mammals for the military, as well as other wild and domesticated animals for the movie industry.
Dave was quite ahead of his time in his training technique and philosophy. He successfully employed operant conditioning methods to change any behavior in most of the dogs he would encounter. It would appear as though he could magically whisper animals. He eagerly shared his knowledge and methodology with me, and initiated a new passion in me to pursue a career in dog training.
I moved to the High Country in 2012 and established my dog business here. I have owned and trained numerous dogs in my career, and continue to provide my services for my clientele in multiple locations. Changing behavior is my passion, and I invite you to become acquainted with me.
